Problems with your rent?
The Association has a dedicatedNeighbourhood Teams who monitor accounts to ensure rent is being paid, but they are also there to assist you if you find yourself in financial difficulties. It is important that you pay your rent on time. If you are finding it difficult to pay or have fallen into arrears the most important thing to do is to contact the Neighbourhood Team.
Most problems with rent arrears can be sorted if early action is taken. If you get into difficulties with your rent, contact the Income Maximisation Team as soon as possible. We may be able to help you to sort out the problem by:
- Changing payments to fit in with your salary cycle e.g. weekly
- Coming to an arrangement, which allows you to pay off arrears in instalments
- We can refer you to our Welfare Rights Team who may be able to help you maximise your income.
If a genuine problem exists, we will work out a realistic arrangement for repayment of the arrears taking all your circumstances into account. However, if we make an arrangement with you it is important you keep to it.
