Turf is delighted to be working in partnership with Southside Housing Association and other local organisations to deliver the holiday programme for children, young people, and families in Cardonald.
The programme brings together the strengths, experience, and local knowledge of a range of organisations to provide free activities, opportunities, and experiences throughout the school holidays. By working collaboratively, we are able to deliver a diverse and engaging programme that responds to the interests and needs of local children and young people, while helping families access positive activities within their community.
At Turf, we believe strong communities are built through partnership working, and this programme is a great example of what can be achieved when organisations come together with a shared commitment to supporting local people. Working alongside Southside Housing Association has allowed us to create a programme that is accessible, inclusive, and shaped by local need.
Through creative activities, play, music, nutritious food, and opportunities to connect with others, the programme aims to reduce isolation, promote wellbeing, and create positive holiday experiences for children, young people, and families. It also provides opportunities to build relationships, increase confidence, and strengthen community connections.
Across the programme, we welcomed around 200 community members through our doors. This strong attendance highlights the demand for accessible holiday provision locally and created valuable opportunities for families to learn more about the support, services, and activities available in Cardonald. For many, it was a chance to connect with others, access local resources, and find out more about what is happening in their community.
We are proud to be part of a collaborative approach that puts community needs first and strengthens our wider community.
