Our new approach to our repairs service

We’re pleased to announce our new approach to our day-to-day repairs service following a successful tender exercise. Previously organised on a single contract basis separate contracts have now been signed with seven contractors to deliver the full range of responsive, void and out of hours emergency repairs. The contracts will run for an initial two years with a potential to extend for up to three years with a value of more than £5M.

Five contractors will deliver the responsive repairs on a trade basis with four contractors covering void properties and one contractor dealing with all out of hours emergencies. All of the contracts will commence on 1st September 2023.

Our Chief Executive, Paul McVey said “we have listened to feedback from our tenants and factored owners and have been given a clear message on what their needs and expectations are. Our repairs service is one of the things that matters most to our customers. We want to get repairs done first time and quickly and return our empty properties for allocation with minimum delay. By splitting our contract into several manageable areas, we can expect efficiencies and improvements in quality as well as increased customer satisfaction. We have created a partnership with our repairs contractors, offering improved services to our customers as well as supporting local jobs throughout the southside of Glasgow. The contracts have also allowed the inclusion of community benefit clauses with around £50,000 being reinvested into communities on a variety of projects to be agreed with local people”.
