Celebrating Karen’s last day at SHA!

We celebrated Karen’s last day at the end of April by taking a trip down memory lane.

Pauline Fletcher, our Director of Housing shared a few kind words and stories from Karen’s career.

We laughed, we cried and gave her the send-off she truly deserved!

From starting off her career in 1988 as a receptionist in the housing office in Springburn to becoming a well-respected and valued Housing Manager at SHA, she  truly has seen it all! Karen has made a massive contribution to the Housing sector and has always shown a true passion for helping people.

Pauline called out how well Karen could  relate to people regardless of their circumstances which is essential in housing and how well trusted, reliable and fair she always was.  This was echoed by all of her colleagues.

Karen always managed to put a smile on our faces, very often unintentionally, with a prime example during lockdown when she was unable to see anyone during an  online meeting……..despite calling IT for assistance, it was her husband who advised her that her laptop was closed!!!  Karen was great fun and her stories and nonsense will be missed by her colleagues!!

Karen, it has been a pleasure working with you and we hope you enjoy this new chapter in your life.

A new adventure awaits…Happy Retirement!
